It is time to design the perfect Valentine’s Day card for the special someone in your life. Here is a thorough guide on how to create your personalized card from scratch!

A typical greeting card consists of three pages in total. The front page, the inner page with two sides and the third which is the backside. As you open PrintShop, choose ‘Create Blank Project’ from the options available. This option allows you to choose the number and size of pages as well as the project type.

Once you have successfully started a new blank project it is time to add text and images for design!

Essential Components For Your Card

Headlines

The first (front) page of your card must have a headline that describes the title of the card. You may also edit your headings to make it stand out. Editing features include Ready-Made Headlines, Shapes, Positions, Proportions and different options for Text, Paragraph, Outlining and Effects.

Borders

There are three ways through which you can choose borders for your project.

1. Choose Borders>Custom Borders from the ribbon interface
2. Import images from your computer
3. Use clip art for ready-made border designs.

Messages

Adding messages to the inner pages is a good idea and makes your card seem intimate and thoughtful. The following is the inner page of the sample designed by our designers.

Additional Elements You May Add

Possibilities to play with your design in PrintShop are endless. Beyond the scope of borders, text and headings, you may also add other elements of your choosing to make your card more personalized. Examples include lovebirds, wine glasses, hearts and picture frames. The third page of the sample below includes a photo frame which can then be used to add personal pictures.

Once you have completed your design, it is now time to export your project. You may Save As JPEG, HTML and/or PDF. Share this special present with your special someone through print or electronic mail.
