Backing Up and Importing files from The Print Shop version 2,3,4, or 5

Want to backup files or know how to look for files for The Print Shop series and open them in the current version?

Here are some helpful tips before you upgrade to a new version of the software.

*Upgrading from TPS 2, 3, 4, or 5 for Windows: First, determine where your files are. If you have used the default location, you will know where your files are on your computer. Typically these are in a folder called Documents. But you can save them in other locations as well.

As indicated in the image below:

I have a file saved in my folder.

Note the file extension is ‘PSProj’. I Simply left-click the file once, then right-click and select Send to:

Choose the drive letter that is associated with your USB Flash Drive. Repeat this for the other files.

If you can't find your files, use the Search box at the top right-hand side of the screen and type in *.PSProj in the search box. The star and the period before PSProj are very important to make sure Windows only finds files based on your search.

Once you back them up, you can transfer them to a new computer. Please note that these files by default won't be readily accessible in Print Shop 6.0. To open them, click on the button to the left of the word Home.

Choose open The Print Shop 5, 4, 3, or 2 Projects.

A folder window will open.

Open the file and you're ready to work with your project from a previous version of The Print Shop 2, 3,4, or 5
